We are having a ‘dress up as your favourite book character’ day. It’s great fun and appeals to kids of all ages, from reception up. At some point in the day the children are invited to tell their class who they are and why they particularly like that character.

At my children’s school they designed their own book covers for a competition. Children were also encouraged to bring in their favourite book and share their favourites with their classmates. There was also a book sale. Simple ideas but they got everyone talking about the day. What did you do in your school?
