Space challenge!

13 May 2008

Children are being asked to devise an out-of-this world experiment

View of space

In October 2008, British-born, video-game pioneer and intrepid adventurer, Richard Garriott, will become the sixth private citizen to explore space. What makes this trip extra exciting is that he is asking children to devise an experiment for him to complete while on the International Space Station!

The experiment can focus around Richard’s body or items from his astronaut kit bag – which includes objects such as coins, magnets, a digital camera, USB cables and toothpaste. Children should remember that their experiment will take place in zero gravity so they can be as imaginative as they like!

Winners of the competition will not only get the chance to meet Richard on his return to Earth, but he will also fly their school badge in space! Entries should be received by 20 June and sent to heather@venturethinking.com For full details, visit www.richardinspace.com
