Children to influence Primary Review
13 May 2008

Children will get the chance to have a say in the Government’s review of the primary curriculum as they take part in a conference organised by the National College for School Leadership (NCSL).
The conference, called ‘What makes learning exciting?’ will be hosted by the NCSL and the National Education Trust (NET) on 5 June in Nottingham. During the day, pupils will be able to tell education leaders what excites them about learning now, and what would make it even better in the future.
The event will culminate with the children, chosen from schools across England, presenting their conclusions to QCA chairman Mick Waters in the form of a ‘Children’s Charter’.
Paul Bennett, from NCSL, said: “This day represents a unique opportunity for children to have a say in a major educational development – the review of the primary curriculum.”
Chair of the NET Trustees, Richard Howard said: “NET is always keen to listen to the voice of children and is pleased to be associated with NCSL in this special event.”
