Stay away from that tricksy fox, Jemima!
To mark the 100th anniversary of The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, The Lake District’s World of Beatrix Potter Attraction has opened an exciting new display to make children go quackers!
Schools will get the chance to meet Jemima in her woodland glade and learn more about her adventures with the ‘foxy whiskered gentleman’, who tricks her into his lair to steal her eggs and eat Jemima for tea!
The interactive display is suitable for Key Stages 1 and 2, and includes National Curriculum subject links to literacy, numeracy, science and geography. Lesson plans and worksheets can also be downloaded for free from www.wobpgroups.com/en/keystages.php
Speaking of the anniversary Stacey McShane, Groups & Events Manager for The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, said: ‘To mark the occasion, we’re treating Jemima and her dedicated exhibit to a makeover. Schools will be able to see the transformation for themselves and come nose to beak with Jemima during their visit.’
The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck is one of Beatrix Potter’s most popular children’s books. For more information on school visits click here.
