World Book Day is the biggest annual celebration of books in the UK. Make sure your children claim their tokens
Thursday 6 March is a big day for children’s publishing. To help youngsters develop the reading bug, each primary school child in the UK will receive a £1 World Book Day token. These tokens can be exchanged for one of nine specially produced books, which have been published to mark the day. Here are the ones that are most suitable for four- to seven-year-olds.

Paddington Rules the Waves by Michael Bond, illustrated by R W Alley
(Suitable for two years plus)
Paddington is off to the seaside. But when he is joined by ten hungry seagulls, things don’t go to plan. This is a great book to help young children get to grips with numbers.
Princess Poppy: The Fancy Dress Party by Janey Louise Jones
(Suitable for three years plus)

(Suitable for six years plus)

Exchanging your tokens:
The £1 WBD tokens can be redeemed between 3 March and 30 March. The token can either be exchanged for a £1 book or put towards any book or audio book costing £2.99 or more. Visit the official World Book Day website for more details.
